Antique 1902 membership certificate of the Society of the Colonial Dames of America.
Piece reads "Miss Laurilla Moore Hathaway has been duly elected a member of the Massachusetts Society of the Colonial Dames of America, in right of her ancestor John Valentine. In testimony whereof the names of the President and Secretary and the seal of the Society are hereunto affixed. - Dated December 9, 1902." It is signed by: Ellen President; Adeline A. Bigelow, Secretary; Katherine Hamilton Cabell Claiborne, National President; Clarinda Pendleton Lamar, National Secretary.
Hallmark to paper reads "Cal. 451 - Tiffany & Co."
Dimensions: Length 15 3/4" x Width 21 1/2".
Weight: 1.4 oz.
Condition: Creases to paper along left and right side. Wear and soiling to edges of paper. Wax seal is intact. Spot of wax residue to left side of seal where it touched the paper. Document was found rolled up so there is some crinkling to paper throughout. Document can be ironed out by a professional.
