  • Condition: Good-Very Good overall antique cond: Offered for your review & consideration is this absolutely fantastic & very well-pres, late 19th c American antique P.O.S.A. (Patriotic Order of the Sons of America) feat a gold enml pntd metal alloy pommel w/a bust of American revolutionary general & first American president George Washington. The highly dec cross guard is also dripping w/detail & fine ornamentation, w/1 side of the hand cross guard feat the acronym POSA, realized in a highly stylized monogram. In the center of the cross guard on the other side of the sword, can be found the stars & bars of the American flag in a characteristic shield. The bottom of the hardened steel blade has a cursive, etched signature of the prev owner 'M.C. Willy, 1886' scribed on the blade's facia above the cross guard. The cross guard is wonderfully tooled & very fine. The handle grip feats threaded, wound brass threaded wrap. Some built-up silt/material on blade facia. A simply wonderful antique sword.
